"Your brother’s on the phone, he says it’s an emergency."

That explained the call that I had previously silenced in my pocket while sitting in on a meeting. It was an inevitable call I had been expecting for the last week...

Rest In Peace Guadalupe "Lou" Partida, I will always love you. Hopefully your last memory of me was a good one. The last 6-7 years she'd been hit pretty hard with Alzheimer's, so it's tough to say what her last memory of me was. Especially if hidden down in her subconscious.

The last few years I've been kicking myself for not sacking up and visiting her. I have always had a uncomfortable resistance to visiting elderly homes and hospitals. The last time I was able to see my grandma was 12-24-05.

It was Christmas Eve, and I was so happy to see her. Unfortunately she wasn't able to remember who I was without a little coaching. We shared a good night in each other's company and I'm glad to know that my last words to her conveyed that I love her.

Grandma Lou, you were a beautiful person; inside and out. Go see grandpa, see you later.

Love always,

Chris

Happy 50th anniversary LEGO!

I've really been lacking content in this here b-log, I wanted to put up something outlining my start of the New Year, but I lazed. Maybe I'll add that soon, yes even still.

Regardless, back to the title... Happy 50th anniversary LEGO!

LEGOs were a huge part of my upbringing. I can easily attribute my early desire to be an astronaut or architect to playing with LEGOs for so long. I remember getting the space shuttle set for Christmas one year and being so excited to put it together. The countless hours I spent building and creating all kinds of different LEGO creations were a keystone in my childhood. By 14 or 15 I knew I had to move on, so gave my huge collection to my little brothers. They are now just outgrowing them, but do we ever really outgrow something as awesome as LEGOs? I doubt it.

Happy birthday LEGOs!

Chipotle 7 days a week?!

I've had Chipotle for the last 4 days, I think I'm going for a 5th tonight. Maybe a 6th and 7th are also in the works. A week straight of Chipotle, I thought I could only dream up such a grandiose idea, never actually do it.

Day 1. - Carnitas burrito with black beans, rice, sour cream, cheese and tomatillo green salsa.
Day 2. - Chicken burrito with black beans, rice, fajita veggies, sour cream, cheese and tomatillo green salsa.
Day 3. - Carnitas burrito bol with black beans, rice, sour cream, cheese and tomatillo green salsa.
Day 4. - Chicken Quesadilla with pinto beans, rice, cheese, sour cream and tomatillo green salsa on top.
Day 5. - (today) Steak burrito bol with black beans, rice, sour cream, cheese and a mix of pico de gallo & tomatillo red salsa.
Days 6 & 7 uncertain...

I can't wait.
